Ok, I have to admit, I like garage sales. There, I said it. Because sometimes, the best finds are at garage sales. Take this for example.
My newest addition to the family! A 1941 Singer Featherweight 221. Isn't she a beauty? The previous owner took good care of the machine, as it has an excellent finish, fresh grease on the gears, and she purrs! She also has the lovely scroll work face plate, adding to her charm. I haven't had much time to play with her, though, mainly because of dealing with all the other treasures I found.
Fabric, lots of fabric, books, rulers, and notions. And this is just half of it! I've been washing, ironing, folding, sorting, and finding space to store all of it - that's the hardest part!
Now don't think I brought home all things quilty. I did find other (I guess) treasures. These poor orchids need some TLC,
as one was severely over-watered. Both got repotted with fresh bark, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. They were a bargain, and worth the price of the pot alone, so why not try to rescue them?
So, that's been my weekend. All pumped up from the thrill of the find! Wouldn't you be?
