Very little sewing yesterday, mainly because I spent the day shopping. At quilt shops, of course! Normally I don't do this, because I'm all about using from my stash, but this was special.
On Wednesday, I received a call from The Nimble Thimble quilt shop, congratulating me on winning one of the first place prizes in the recent Shop Hop. The prize is a $100 gift certificate to the store! Yeah!!!
Now it just so happened that I found the pretty peach fabric I'm working with there. And guess what? I need two more yards! Perfect timing! Here's what I spent $100 on.
The beautiful pale blue batik is to go with all the charm squares collected from the hop. Did I mention there are 107 of those? And that doesn't include the 63 from my own collection! Or the 2 1/2" strips collected from the hop two years ago!
Plenty to make a nice sized quilt. I have two pattern ideas for all of these.
The Hex N More Ruler looked like fun, as it also made the jewel shapes. And the book Two Patch Scrap Quilts will hopefully help use up my stash!
And, since there are two other shops close by, I had to stop in as I had some coupons given during the shop hop. With those, I added a few more to my black on white stash, along with a print of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Yummy!
As for the sewing. Yesterday was fix it day. Can you find what's wrong with this picture?
I got the piecing done Wednesday, stood back to admire it, and finally saw my mistake. Well, it's all better, and now I've got the fabric to finish it up.
To be continued...
