Pets on Quilts Linky Party

I found this fun linky party

at lilypadquilting.blogspot.com, and thought I'd join in!

Here's my 'pet on a quilt', my lover boy, Roscoe.
He is definitely the King, and certainly doesn't want to be dethroned from his spot on this quilt!

I know he's been on other quilts, I just haven't caught him on camera.  But, because I do like cats (I have three, and they all found me), I have made several cat quilts.  My kids think I need to stop that, or else I'll look like a Crazy Cat Lady!

Anyway, here are some of my other creations.
This is from a pattern Let Sleeping Cats Lie, which I made for a dear friend, who is now kittie-less.

And from leftover pieces, I made this little wall hanging
which is based on the following picture I took of the King, with Toby, a 6-8 week old kitten who mysteriously appeared in our garage.

And I got my kids in on the action years ago, as this is the first and only quilt that they helped design and piece.

There are a few others, such as tessellated cats, and some hand applique cats, but the first has no picture, and the second still has to be put together.  And of course, I've got cat fabric scraps that are waiting to go into a quilt...

How about you?  If you have a pet on a quilt, join in on the fun!

Happy Quilting!

  2. Roscue looks like he's saying "don't mess with me" or he's sitting there purring and quite content. He's a beautiful guy. All of the quilts are wonderful, but I really love the wall hanging you made of him and Toby.

  4. Nothing better than something heartfelt...I love the sleeping cats lie that you made for your friend and the one you made that was based on a picture from your life.

  8. Your cat quilts are beautiful, it would be a shame not to make some more (even risking to look like a Crazy Cat Lady!!).

  9. I had a cat named Roscoe once! My husband's name is Scott and I'm Rosemary so we put the names together and came up with Roscoe! Love you cats but your cat quilts are gorgeous! I love how cats love quilts! They seem to go together somehow!
